More about the brand
According to its own information, Eric Bompard uses particularly fine cashmere fibers from Inner Mongolia of only about 15.5–16 microns.
Only a small part of the down is used and selected accordingly.
A cashmere goat yields only about 200 grams of this precious wool per year.
Several animals may be needed for one sweater.
Bompard works with densely knitted, twisted yarns.
This is meant to give the sweater its soft, supple feel and beautiful drape, while also making it more shape-retaining and durable and less prone to fluffing or pilling.
The vibrant colours are no coincidence either.
Bompard states that it selects particularly light or white base fibres because they take dye especially clearly and intensely.
This is striking in this rich emerald green.
100% cashmere is not the same as 100% cashmere.
What matters is the fineness and length of the fibres, how they are selected, and the quality of the yarn and workmanship.
Eric Bompard has been one of the specialists in high-quality cashmere for decades and uses particularly fine, carefully selected fibres from Inner Mongolia.
You can feel the result: exceptional softness, very little weight with astonishing warmth, a beautiful drape and, with good care, a quality that can be worn for many years.
You get a sweater that costs about €420 new at a fraction of the original price, but the quality of the cashmere has stayed the same.
